Some of the yummy condiments you can find in the sauce isle of the Asian grocer! As you can see there's a lot to choose from but these two are the ones that get used the most in our house. This chilli oil is more than just an oil- it's got black beans and onion chunks in it and is utterly packed with flavour.?
It's ingredients are Vegetable oil, onion, black bean, salt, sugar, Chinese?pepper?
(there?are?different?types- make sure you look out for any animal products!) It's a really versatile and easy way to use chilli in your cooking.
Chinese vinegar or Chinkiang vinegar's?ingredients?are water, glutinous rice, wheat bran, salt, sugar. It's a sweet vinegar similar to balsamic but has a sharper flavour which is addictive. I may be a vinegar enthusiast and enjoy drinking apple cider vinegar straight but this stuff makes any recipe taste better. Now I know salt and sugar aren't things you really want filling a healthy diet but you use such small amounts of these condiments that I overlook it.?I use these two in so many recipes but here are just a few to get you going.
I hope this gave you some insight into the sauce isle and you think twice before putting back a sauce you're not sure about. They're worth a try!All the best,
